However, the inclusion of friendly fire makes the game more frustrating than challenging. The different classes add a unique twist to the game making it feel like one person can’t carry the team. Making sure you don’t waste your ammo is challenging and fun. The good side to this is that there is a sense of terror when you fight off the alien swarms that occur during certain events. This is what separates Alien Swarm making it a good and a bad thing. Alien Swarm does the opposite and challenges players to take their time through battles and take aim on the plethora of enemies. Most twin stick shooters play like Smash TV and are very much like an arcade game.
